Venerable Buddhasirey Muny Chhorm Chea

Venerable Buddhasirey Muny Chhorm Chea was born on Monday February 2, 1965 in Cambodia, at Trea Sor Village, Khnasa Commune of Srey Santhor District, Kompong Cham Province, to father Phum Chea and mother Chhoy Mey. Both his parents have past away years ago.

Venerable Chhorm Chea left regular schooling during his teenage years to study Buddhism's history, philosophies, and doctrines. He was ordained on February 24, 1990 in the boundary of Phteah Kandal Pagoda. He has completed his studies and received his diploma in Buddhism. He is a clever, well spoken, and honest monk who is well received by everyone, men and women, young and old alike. His cleverness and commitment to Buddhism has earned him the position of head monk at Phteah Kandal Pagoda. Since his installment as

head monk, he has been working for the spiritual development and happiness of the Cambodian community, in Cambodia as well as in the States. He is well known in Cambodia for his charitable works in the community and in his works with many temples accross Cambodia. Mainly though, he is primarily known for his work in the development of Kdey Krao Trea Sor Temple and in the establishment of Wat Dhamagosnaram Temple.

Venerable Chhorm Chea currently resides at Wat Dhamagosnam and serves as head monk. He coninues his work, providing religious and spiritual services to the Cambodian community in Rhode Island. He also continues his charitable works in Cambodia.
